One of the most fun and practical guns we've experienced. This one is a 5.7, threaded barrel and we've added some Feyachi flip up iron sights.
ATF calls this a "pistol grip firearm" so make sure it's legal in your state! We're not really sure why this would be on someone's short list but who says a gun collection must be filled with practical things that all have a logical reason for being constructed in the first place. Heck, maybe this goes under your pillow or behind your seat in the truck! Load her up with buckshot and hope that the kick doesn't crack your skull open and you awaken to the bad guy beating you to death with the gun. At the end of the day it looks cool and makes us feel like Mad Max when we hold it.
Sneaky Sneaky! 7 shots of .357 at your disposal. Might be the slickest revolver we've had our hands on (and we've got plenty between the 3 of us). We love the design and the idea of "tricking" a bad guy! Has great weight and it's the perfect size to be concealable. To be honest it's a heavy gun so might be a better open carry option.

Another Exodus this time a cool burnt bronze color (a little hard to capture in the pics but click the specs link and you'll see a more accurate view). We still can't believe how inexpensive these are for what you get. Lockable plastic case, weight is solid, action works well and you get a cleaning kit and extra mag PLUS it's optics ready. Just mind boggling!!
Don't have 8k for a Sand Viper? Have 8k but don't want to wait 8 months? Either way here's about the best option you'll find. Canik continues to impress with the quality of their guns as well as the completeness of the packaging. You get a good optic, all the accessories you can imagine, and a really nice lockable plastic case. Can't say enough good things about this one! We'd love to see it come with one more mag but for the price and what is in the box there's not a better deal out there.
Why is the box so long you ask? There are 5 magazines and 3 extra back straps (S/M/ML/L). 2 of the mags are 23 rounds! What a wild world we live in! This is a sexy gun...great size for a larger carry gun and optics ready. Only knock we have on this gun is the sights are vanilla iron which is a little odd given it comes with so many other goodies (even plates) but fantastic buy for the $$!
This is one of the most sexy guns we've seen through the years. It's interesting how Glock and HK are both German brands and so far apart in their design approach. The HK is just beautiful aesthetically and the fit/finish/feel and ergonomics of the gun are as close to perfect as anything else out there. This is the "push button" model (versus the paddle mag release version).
The Echelon is wildly popular for good reason. This is the compensated version with the "Gear Up" package that includes the Crimson Trace 1500 optic, range bag and extra mags. Hard to beat this gun for the price and features!
We are suckers for a nicely done lever gone and Rossi has done it right with this Davidson's exclusive R92. It's got a really nice looking stock with the larger loop for all you cowboys out there. Threaded barrel if you want to add a suppressor or muzzle brake. Lots of customization options out there as well if you want to trick it out!
Very nice full size pistol from Walther. It's great for larger hands and Walther paid has great attention to detail. It's a compensated gun as well so recoil management becomes much easier (we've done side by side testing with comp'd and none and it's immediately obvious). One thing we REALLY like is they include a voucher for a free optics plate of your choice. We see way too many guns that are optics ready but require you to spend money on a plate so this was a nice surprise when we opened the box.
Very nice well done pistol that fits any budget and has all the features you'd look for in a carry gone. Night sights, Optics ready, 2 mags and threaded barrel if you wanted to add a suppressor. It also comes with an extra spring (for suppressed shooting) AND all the optics plates!
It's basic but it's very well done. Ever since Tim's neighbor showed him a gun he got new for ~$300 he's been on a mission to find one around the same price that's nicer. This fits the bill with better sights and a nicer aesthetic than Mr. Neighbor Man has. It's not an optics ready gun but it's perfect for someone on a budget or a minimalist who doesn't need frills! Solid build (we have held lots of much more expensive guns that don't feel this solid)and it's a Ruger!
Glock G5 MOS comes with 3 15 RD Mags and all of the German utilitarian goodness you can handle! Mount whatever optic you want and you have a gun you can throw off a mountain and pick up and shoot at the bottom.

We are impressed with the build quality, fits well in the hand and comes with a nice range bag (padded and sturdy) and a couple of magazines. This is just a beautiful compact carry gun. It has nice weight and balance and fits well in even a larger hand. It's Kimber quality and the fit/finish is fantastic. We can't say enough good things about this gun! High odds it ends up in our personal collection!
It's a Glock...utilitarian because that's how the Germans role but tried and true and reliable which is the most important thing of all when it comes to a carry gun. This is not an MOS model but if you are a real shooter you only need the irons anyway!
Do we need another centerfire cartridge? We didn't think so until we started doing some reading. Turns out it makes some good sense given the advancements since the late 1800s when the .22 came around. This is a modern design that's lightweight and attractive. Comes with iron sights but you can mount your favorite rimfire scope via the pre-tapped holes.
This is a tiny cute little thing with limited practical use. Small cup size? No problem it will fit. Need a backup boot gun...look no further. 5 rounds of 22 WMR isn't going to stop a bear but it will stop almost any human!
The 5.7 is an interesting round that's fun to shoot and becoming more popular. This gun is a full size pistol that is a really slick design. We topped it with a plate from Galloway Precision and a Holosun 407K green dot. It comes with 2 x 20 round mags and a nice case.
This pistol is meant for deep concealment. It's a thinner gun that has a good balance of weight. We bought this one used and added the optic. If it was used at all it was very lightly used. Comes with one 15 and one 11 round magazine.
This is a large frame revolver that is just beautiful. They aren't easy to come by and we weren't sure how we'd feel about it but you instantly get old school gumshoe detective vibes when you pick it up. It hold 8 rounds as well which is nice to see in a revolver. Comes with a nice case as well. Truly a work of art!
This is Kimber's extremely popular entry into a pretty crowded compact space. We like it because it fits well in the hand, has a nice heft and just feels like Kimber quality at a price that doesn't break the bank. The Crimson Trace RAD Micro Pro fits perfectly and is probably the cleanest co-witness gun we've seen. Includes: 3, 15-round magazines and 1, 13- round magazine, and 1, 11-round magazine, a Mission First Tactical Kydex holster and a Kimber branded range bag.
For some reason we'll likely never know HK discontinued what we at CSS all agree is the best "in hand" feeling gun we've ever held. This is a lightly (if at all) used option that's in great shape. It comes with 6 total mags (3 x 15rd, 2 x 12rd and 1 x 17rd), an OLight Baldr laser/light, and a Holosun 407K GR X2. Also has the original manual and lockable hard case and a couple extra HK plates if you wanted to swap to a larger footprint optic. We added the optic and light here. One unique feature is that this is the non-paddle mag release model (meaning it has the more common mag release button on the handle). These are pretty rare as most had the paddle release on the trigger guard. It's a beautiful gun.
Named "envy" because your friends will all wish they had one. This is a custom build using only the best components. The barrel is a Christensen Arms 22" Sporter in 6.5 Creedmoor, action is a Defiance Ruckus with integral 20 MOA rail, trigger is a TriggerTech Diamond 2 Stage and the chassis is an MDT XRS. Weighing in at 9lbs with the tripod all you need is a sling and optic to turn this into a long range hunter or competition platform. The barrel and action were custom fit by our friends at First Gunsmithing in Fenton, MO. There's a 5 round MDT box magazine included as well as 2 sets of furniture (wood is shown here but we have the original black as well).
It doesn't get much better than this from a package / price perspective. You get a quality compensated firearm that has been modified for competition shooters and is ready to go off the shelf. The included optic is the nicest optic we've seen in a package like this and is a $450 option if bought separately. Kel-Tec deserves some credit for consistently coming up with unique and innovative designs and the SU16 is no exception. Comes with 2 10rd mags (housed in the stock). The SU16CA offers a threaded, 16" barrel as well as all the other features of both the A & B models. Every SU16 comes with adjustable sights, integrated Picatinny-style rail for mounting your favorite optic and AR-15 magazine compatibility in a lightweight package. Important footnote the "CA" designator in the model stands for carbine no CA Compliant. You can run whatever size AR mag you want.
The full frame Echelon has been very successful as an EDC and now Springfield has introduced a smaller version. It fits nicely in a larger hand. The gear up package comes with extra mags (5 total included 2 x 15 and 3 x 18) and the Crimson Trace CT 1500.

This is another beautiful match gun that checks all of the right boxes. It's a limited run that has a very unique color (better seen in the hyperlink below). We can't keep our hands off of this one it's been passed around like a bong at a frat party! It's topped from the manufacturer with a Holosun SCS reflex sight.

It's amazing how many rounds they can get into a mag these days. This gun is one of the most popular concealed carry guns. Packs a punch with up to 17 rounds in a single magazine yet small enough to fit just about anywhere. Some sort of witchcraft but the good kind! It fits pretty well into a larger hand as well.

Tim's dad had a 22-250 in the truck rattling around for years. It took care of countless predators and some nice whitetail. Todd had to buy one after seeing it go straight through AR500 steel at close range. Just a great all around caliber that checks every box for hunting in the Midwest. It's not going to be your go to elk gun but it's perfect for someone who wants something that will take down a deer without taking out a shoulder! This is a great deal on a great gun. We have a few customers who use this as their EDC and love it. It's not the fanciest or most expensive gun but it's a solid option from a company that's been in the business for a long time! This is a basic Buckmark with a nice gold accent trigger and bull barrel. Perfect for a traditionalist who doesn't care about reflex sights (like Big John who doesn't like anything modern and still prefers hand crank windows) or someone who is just getting into pistol shooting. Kind of like learning to drive a stick shift first we all feel fairly strongly that learning with iron sights is the only way to start!
This is a great example of the timeless Browning Buckmark line of .22 target pistol. Nice wood handle topped with a Vortex Crossfire that is co-witnessed with the iron sights. Hard to beat this for a gun you can use to improve your pistol skills with low cost ammo and hunt small game!
Topped with a Crimson Trace RAD Micro reflex sight this little gun is perfect for CC or the glovebox. It's had several nice reviews and it's got great balance and fits well even in a larger hand. It even has a compensator on the front which is really unique for a gun this size.
Beautiful gun with a what we call "iceberg blue" finish and thick wood grips. The color doesn't show up well in pictures but it's a slick little gun (better pics in the link below). This combo is about as close as you can get to the movies. Suppressor can be removed for sale (price below is for the gun only) but it's a matched set and you'll love shooting suppressed .22 it's no louder than a BB gun!
Canik makes a great gun and this is no exception. Steel frame gives it the heft you need to knock heads when you run out of ammo and the it's totally blacked out so it looks sharp! Comes with the Mecanik MO2 reflex sight and a bunch of accessories in a nice hard case!
This is hands down one of the most complete and least expensive "off the shelf" competition shooting guns. It's got all of the goodies plus a matching MDT bipod and just needs a nice optic (we like the Burris Veracity PH for this gun) to start ringing steel. Could you hunt with this guy? If you're a mountain of a man like Todd sure why not!
This is a beautiful gun that has all the makings of an entry level LR gun. I can hear it already "Tim are you saying that a 22WMR is a long range gun?". Yes, LR shooting is all about taking a caliber to the limits and if you can shoot 300 yards with this gun you can shoot 800 with a Creedmoor!
22 WMR is a great cartridge for all ages but especially younger shooters who want to work on their shooting skills without spending a fortune on ammo and fighting the recoil of a larger caliber. At CSS we all have a 22WMR around the house for pest control and shooting practice.
We're still working on figuring out the practicality of this gun but we're closing to giving up and putting it into the "why not" category. It looks cool and if you really wanted to show off you could use it for sporting clays. Comes with an extra 10 round mag just in case 5 isn't enough!
This is a truly beautiful work of art. Weighing in at 7.2lbs it's ready to be packed into the great beyond. Carbon fiber barrel and stock without sacrificing features like and adjustable cheek riser. I've had to hid this one from the other guys to keep in pristine and unfired!
This is a great example of what we call a "brush" gun. The 450 Bushmaster is a great short (~250 yards) round and this example is a compact gun that will go anywhere and drop anything in North America. We'll be putting an LPVO scope on this guy soon and will update the pictures when we do.
This is Harvey...he's not really for sale but he felt left out. The official mascot of CSS, Harvey spends his days lounging around and mostly doing nothing to advance our cause. He is a great watchdog though and we feel sorry for anyone who makes it through the front door unannounced!
This is another SUB2000 Gen 3 example with Feyachi Fiber Optic flip-up sights. We really enjoyed shooting our demo of this gun before it went to a new home...so much so that we bought two more to have in our inventory. If you want a reflex sight we have another with a Holosun on top.
This is a fun to shoot yet practical option from KelTec. Takes Glock mags, folds up to fit into a backpack, and takes a suppressor if desired. What else can you ask for? Comes with a Holosun 510C Green optic. You can sneak this in under your coat without any risk of the wife seeing it!
This Howa is the lightest rifle we've ever held. The stock is fantastic (Stocky's) and it's a nice looking gun. Take a look at the review in the link and you will become a believer. We'll be getting an optic mounted on this guy soon and we'll update the pictures when we do.
Maybe we've been watching too many zombie flicks but we couldn't help to build this gun out as a retro tacticool option. Sporting a Vortex Sparc II and a laser/light combo with pressure pad it's ready for whatever comes calling in the middle of the night. We even added a leather sling to match!

The FNH USA FNX-45 Series Tactical 45 ACP FDE Pistol with Vortex Viper Optic has a 15+1-round capacity and a polymer frame. It also has an anti-decocking/safety lever, a Trijicon fixed 3-dot night sight and a Vortex Viper optic.
Custom build that started as a Remington 700 SPS 22" in 6.5CM. We swapped the factory trigger for a TriggerTech Remington Special 2 stage, dropped everything into an MDT ORYX chassis, added a matching MDT bipod and sling. The Arken EP-5 5-25x56 FFP scope tops it off. We're calling it poison ivy partially because of the color but mostly because Tim had it during the build and building the gun was the only thing that kept him sane. It's been sighted in and tested with various loads out to 400 yards. Suppressor shown is the Omega 36M and can be purchased with the gun if desired.
